On the occasion, she donated 50 million VND (2,150 USD) to the centre and 80 million VND to Pho Cuong kindergarten in Duc Pho district.

Thinh praised efforts made by the centre’s staff and asked the provincial authorities to assist the centre in caring for children with disabilities and disadvantaged one.

Initially established based on the support from late journalist Vo Hong Son’s family, the centre has been sustaining its operations with assistance from the community. In five years of working, it annually looks after between 100 and 120 children with disabilities from needy families. In the 2019-2020 school year, it is caring and providing education and vocational training for 146 children.

Director of the centre Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said children in the centre are aged between 6 and 15 years old, about half of them are hearing impaired.
