UNDP and Japan support local students in responding to natural disasters

The drill was part of the Program "Truong hoc cua Son Tinh" (School of Son Tinh – a Vietnamese legendary saint who successfully fought floods) launched by the Anti-Natural Disaster General Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with supports from UNDP and the Japanese Government.

Japanese Deputy-Consul General Kazunori Hosoya in Ho Chi Minh City said that Vietnam is among the 10 countries in the world that are most exposed to natural disasters so the drill in responses to tsunami, storms and floods was very significant to Vietnamese school students, particularly those in disaster-prone areas
