Earlier, the vessel went adrift due to engine failure while operating about 59 nautical miles off Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa province. The boat was on the verge of sinking due to high waves and strong winds.
After receiving the trawler’s mayday, the National Committee for Search and Rescue immediately sent Ship SAR 271, docking at Nha Trang City in Khanh Hoa province then, to the scene.
After hours of searching for the troubled trawler in bad weather conditions, the ship finally was able to approach, gave first aid to the fishermen and towed the distressed trawler with all crew-members safely ashore.
