Needy people receiving gifts

A delegation from the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN), led by its Deputy Editor-in-Chief Senior Colonel Ngo Anh Thu, visited and extended best wishes to the troops of Brigade 205 of the Signal Corps, especially on-duty troops.

On the occasion, the PAN delegation gave the troops the newspaper’s New Year publications, fitness equipment, and Tet gifts.

The same day, the delegation also paid a pre-Tet visit to Battalion 702 of Army Corps 1.

* The Phu Yen provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs spent some of the provincial budget buying nearly 300 tons of rice for needy people in the province. Each disadvantaged person received 15kg of rice.

The provincial People’s Committee spent over VND 11 billion on Tet gifts for 2,275 heroic Vietnamese mothers and heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, and 19,202 sick and wounded soldiers, martyrs’ families, national contributors, and poor households.

* As many as 20 missions from Tay Ninh province’s Party Committee and political organizations visited and wished a Happy New Year to border guards undertaking missions on the borderline and households near militia checkpoints. The missions wanted leaders of border posts and militia checkpoints to promote political and ideological education for troops and urged troops to heighten revolutionary vigilance, maintain a high sense of combat readiness, ensure political security and social order and safety, and contribute to building a borderline of peace and friendship.

* A military-civilian Tet was held by the Yen Bai provincial Military Command and the People’s Committee of Van Chan district, Yen Bai province, attracting 2,000 local people and troops.

During the festival, the provincial Military Command, Party Committee, and authorities funded VND 20 million to the building of a comradeship house for a needy militiaman, and presented 14 Tet gifts to poor households, and newly-discharged soldiers.

* A mission from Division 363 under the Air Defense - Air Force Service visited and extended Tet greetings to the Party Committee, authorities, troops, and people in Bach Long Vy island district in Hai Phong city. Also in the district, the mission offered incense and flowers to fallen soldiers at the district’s War Cemetery.
