Significant program launched to promote environmental protection
PANO - A five-month long greenery program under the Greening Vietnam Campaign was introduced at a press conference held on September 22 at the Children’s House of District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, by the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization and brands OMO Matic and Lifebuoy of Unilever Company.
The program aims to raise awareness of the public, especially teenagers, in protecting the living environment, reducing pollutant emissions, planting more trees, and creating healthy and useful playgrounds for children.
Young pioneer detachments will carry out this program in localities with adequate material facilities and in densely populated areas in shortage of green spaces and playgrounds.
As scheduled, from this September to February 2020, the program will plant 30,000 trees, build ten playgrounds with equipment made of recycled materials for ten localities, and encourage children to be actively engaged in tree-planting, environmental protection and greening Vietnam activities.
After the press conference, delegates and a number of Ho Chi Minh City children planted trees in the Children’s House.
