PANO – The Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training, in collaboration with the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) in Vietnam, has mobilised a programme “Global Action Week”, an annual event held in the first week of May across the world.
In 2011, Vietnam is planning to launch the programme from May 2nd to 8th with the topic “Education for disadvantaged women and children”, which is aimed to improve public awareness and care for education investment.
During the week, there will be various activities, such as talks, workshops and seminars focusing on the factual situations of adults and children who have never had a chance to go to school.
The activities also call on authorities and the public to render more supports to disadvantaged people so that they could have access to education, a good way to help them out of hunger and poverty.
