PANO - The Vietnam Joint-Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) on September 20 handed over 200 breeding cows, worth VND 4 billion, to disadvantaged households in Bac Ai district, Ninh Thuan province.
The meaningful activity contributes to reducing poverty, boosting local socio-economic development and stabilizing security and defense in the province.

According to the organizers, VietinBank plans to invest up to VND 10 billion to give 500 breeding cattle to 250 poor households in the province, to improve their living standards and ensure sustainable poverty reduction.
In this first drive, 200 breeding cows were presented to 100 needy households, and the remainder will be offered at the soonest time.
Speaking at the event, representative of the bank Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan shared that this social activity shows emotion and responsibility of the bank’s personnel to ease the difficulties of poor households in Ninh Thuan province in general and Bac Ai district in particular.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, farmer Pi Nang Thoan thanked the sponsor for their significant assistance. The local authorities and people promised to take good care of and increase the number of the herd.
Since 2009, Vietinbank has spent nearly VND 36 billion on the province’s social activities. So far, 145 houses have been built for poor households, a good deal of medical equipment has been presented to four schools in the locality, and an ambulance has been offered to the province’s General Hospital.
