PANO – The Prime Minister on August 11 approved the project “Immediate support to overcome consequences of drought and saltwater intrusion in the Southern Central Region, the Central Highlands, and the Mekong Delta.”

The project aims at improving the water supply, environment sanitation and nutrition for 336,000 people in areas most severely hit by drought and saltwater intrusion.
The total investment of the project is USD 4 million, or VND 89.36 billion, in the form of non-refundable financial assistance from UNICEF. The project will be implemented in 10 provinces of Ben Tre, Ca Mau, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, Kon Tum and Gia Lai under the management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
