Localities were asked to assign personnel on duty around the clock, regularly report to the Standing Office of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Office of the National Committee for Incident and Disaster Response and Search and Rescue when any incident occurs.
On September 29 afternoon, heavy downpours made a new stone wall collapse, killing two and injuring two others in Da Lat city of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
The steering committee advised locals to be highly vigilant, carefully observe strange geological phenomena, and quickly move away from areas where flash floods may occur.
Localities in flood-affected areas should inspect unsafe houses in mountainous areas and residential areas along rivers and streams, and areas at risk of flooding and landslides, and get plans ready to evacuate residents in high-risk areas to safe places.
