Five buses took needy cancer patients and their relatives gratis to the central City of Da Nang- Quang Nam, the central province of Binh Dinh - Phu Yen, the highlands province of Gia Lai – Kon Tum – Dak Lak, the Mekong delta province of An Giang – Kien Giang, and Soc Trang- Bac Lieu – Ca Mau.

Deputy director of Tumor Hospital Le Anh Tuan said cancer patients suffered pains and economic burden while Tet Holiday (the Lunar New Year) is approaching; as a result, they find difficult in catching bus back home.

Some of them are not in good health condition; accordingly, they have no choice but stay in the hospital in Tet holiday.

The hospital management board and benefactors hence organized free buses to help them return home early to gather with relatives in the traditional holiday.

The hospital also organized “Uoc mo cua Thuy” (Thuy’s dream) with decoration, taking photos, drawing portrait, giving 200 free books and cuisine booth. Moreover, it gave gifts to 160 kid patients and 50 needy adult patients as well as musical performance to release their sadness when they have to welcome Tet holiday in the hospital.

Before, on January 28, the hospital has liaised with Tre Studio to hold a program “Ket noi yeu thuong” (Connecting love) including spring festival, calligraphy booth, cuisine booth, nutrition consultation, musical performance and free hair cut so as to connect medical workers and patients, relatives.

The program organizer also gifted 100 disadvantaged patients and presented gifts to 34 patients whose birthdays are in January. Next, on February, the hospital management board will gift around 180-200 patients who have to stay in the hospital in Tet holiday.
