Le Van Thuong, deputy head of the Central Executive Committee of the Sangha and head of the Can Tho Sangha, said that in the first six months of 2024, the religion’s dignitaries and followers have contributed over 25 billion VND (982,000 USD) to build 90 charitable houses, and implemented many other activities to support poor patients in the city.

In the coming time, the city’s Hoa Hao Buddhist Sangha will work to help upgrade ramshackle bamboo houses in the city and coordinate with local authorities and other religions to well carry out social welfare activities to contribute to the city’s development.

Extending his greetings to Hoa Hao dignitaries and followers, Hieu expressed his hope that the Hoa Hao Buddhist Executive Committees of communes and wards will continue to promote the spirit of dynamism, creativity, and responsibility, and better charity work through building houses for poor people, and bridges and roads in disadvantageous areas.

On the same day, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Mekong Delta province of An Giang Le Hong Quang led a delegation to visit the Central Executive Committee of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Sangha.
