Dong Tac Fishing Port bustles with fishing ships
PANO - In the final days of June, Dong Tac Fishing Port in Phu Yen, Dak Lak province is bustling as hundreds of fishing ships return from offshore fishing trips each day. Freshly caught ocean tuna, many weighing between 50 and 100 kilograms, are continuously unloaded from the ships and brought ashore.
The port operates like a well-coordinated production line. Dockworkers, inspectors, sanitation crews, fish processors, freezing operators, and seafood traders work side by side to handle the daily catch. Favorable weather and abundant catches have filled the port with activity from early morning until late at night.
Border guard officers from Tuy Hoa Border Post under the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, particularly Da Rang Border Checkpoint, maintain round-the-clock patrols and inspections. They register and verify fishing vessels while conducting legal awareness campaigns for fishermen, especially vessel owners and captains, to promote compliance with the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies.
The border guards are currently focusing on raising awareness of regulations to prevent illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. They also assist fishermen in using the eCDT smartphone application and the VNeID digital identification app to simplify departure and arrival registration procedures while improving oversight by the relevant authorities.
