80 couples started stepping together on the red carpet toward White Palace Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City at 11.11am on November 11th, 20011 to join the largest collective wedding in Vietnam.
Representatives of Vietnam’s Guinness Records Book at the event announced that the wedding was recognised as a Vietnam’s record of a collective wedding with the participation of the largest number of couples.
The collective wedding was held and in part sponsored by the City’s Youth Support Centre. Each couple had to pay only VND 1 million for the special wedding but they received all services, including wedding flowers, make-up, cars, wedding costumes, wedding photos and other gifts, for free.
In addition, each couple received a pair of wedding rings worth VND 4 million from the renowned jewellery maker of PNJ and a savings card worth VND 2 million from Vietcombank.
Especially, the poorest couple was presented with a house of compassion costing VND 30 million.
