120 couples join mass wedding ceremony

PANO – The fifth collective wedding ceremony in Vietnam was organized in Ho Chi Minh City on December 12th by the Youth Support Centre with the participation of 120 couples, needy workers living and working in Ho Chi Minh and surrounding provinces. The ceremony set a Vietnam Guinness record for the largest collective wedding ceremony.
120 couples paraded through streets, offered flowers at Ho Chi Minh Statue and joined the wedding ceremony at Grand Palace Conference Centre.
To attend the ceremony, couples had to pay only VND1million for a full wedding ceremony with cars, cakes, flowers, photographs, costumes, makeup and also a gift of VND2 million in a bank account. Besides, the organizing panel presented rings to the ten neediest couples.
Reportedly, since 2007, the Youth Support Centre has organized mass wedding ceremony for 222 couples.
Huynh Ngo Tinh, Director of the Centre affirmed that the centre will organize more ceremonies of this kind to help needy couples have low-cost and happy wedding ceremonies.
