The Prime Minister on April 29th agreed to raise the expenses for two projects to establish geographic databases to VND 760 billion.

Earlier, the two projects to build geographic database centers in the period of 2008-2011 had been approved in 2007 and under the then approval, the two projects cost only VND 550 billion.

However, experts had suggested that the two database centers should be upgraded to meet the demands of more specific scientific researches and other purposes.

The two geographic database centers include databases on geographic features of the whole country and geographic information on urban areas and industrial zones across the country.
