Most of the opinions spoke highly of the Government and VFF’s performance in the past five months in implementing the Party and NA’s resolutions which include many measures to maintain the macroeconomic stability and socio-economic development.
Social welfare policies continued to be conducted, while foreign relations and international integration were strengthened with positive results, voters said, adding that the defense, social security and national sovereignty were firmly safeguarded.
However, they showed concerns over a number of issues such as unsustainable growth and poor competitiveness, high public debt, low productivity, and slow economic restructuring, food safety violations, serious environmental pollution, complicated traffic situation and increasing landslides in river and sea banks that affect people’s living and production.
Basing on voters’ opinions, the VFF Central Committee’s Presidiumproposed that the Party and State continue to drastically direct the implementation of the Party Central Committee’s resolution on party building, while imposing strict punishments on Party members and officials who commit violations in order to reinforce people’s trust.
The Presidium suggested the Government launch inspections over the State management on sand exploitation and forest protection nationwide, while urging heads of the People’s Committees of provinces and cities to conduct specific plans of action to tackle violations in the fields.
Along with effectively implementing the resolutions of the fifth meeting of the 12th Party Central Committee on perfecting socialist-oriented market economy institutions, improving State-owned enterprises’ efficiency and developing private economy, it is necessary to review, adjust and complete policies and regulations to improve the investment environment and support innovative startups, and speed up administrative reform, said the report.
The VFF Central Committee’s Presidium also suggested the Government direct the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and localities to strengthen agricultural restructuring, focusing on encouraging enterprises to invest in the sector and assisting farmers and businesses in applying advanced technology in production.
At the same time, the Government should work out stronger measures to protect the environment and end illegal exploitation of the country’s natural resources, while issuing regulations on the assessment process and criteria of food safety in food production and trading.
The Presidium also recommended the closer coordination between the VFF and the entire society in responding to its call for practical actions to care for invalids, martyrs’ relatives and those who rendered services to the nation.
