State President meets outstanding coast guards and fishermen |
Since the beginning of 2017, the Vietnam Coast Guard force has effectively implemented the model “The coast guard force staying side by side with fishermen” in far-off island communes and districts with special strategic defense-security positions, which still face socio-economic difficulties.
This new model has contributed to building a strong political system of island communes and districts, and served as a strong foundation for the people’s defense disposition at sea. The model has also helped back fishermen in fishing offshore, enriching their own families and homeland, while contributing to protecting national sovereignty, security, and safety.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Tran Dai Quang congratulated the Vietnam Coast Guard force on its feats-of-arms and outstanding achievements over the past 20 years.
He hailed collectives and individuals, especially fishermen, who were honored to attend the ceremony of “The coast guard force staying side by side with fishermen” movement this time.
