PANO - Ship SAR 412 of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center Region II (Danang MRCC) successfully saved and took a distressed fisherman ashore on October 25 afternoon.

Earlier, fishing boat  DNa 90484 TS, captained by Nguyen Tu Hai, from No.41 Nai Hien 8, Nai Hien Dong ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city, sent a mayday signal when being about 40 nautical miles off Da Nang coast. Crewman Tran Chanh Sam, born in 1976 in Tam Thanh commune, Tam Ky district, Quang Nam province, had a acute pain in his left hip.

After receiving the information, the center asked doctors at the Center for Medical Emergency of Da Nang city to instruct other crewmen on the trawler to give first aid to the patient and sent ship SAR 412 to the scene.

At 12:15pm, the ship approached the fishing boat and gave medical aid to the patient. According to their first diagnosis, the patient might have an irritable bowel syndrome.

At 2:15pm, the ship brought the fisherman ashore for further treatment.
