PANO – The Standing Board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) presented the 12th Press Awards, entitled “For the Cause of Great National Unity” in 2016-2016 to winners on November 17 in Hanoi.

The event took place in celebration of the Committee’s 86th traditional day of the VFFCC (November 18).

Politburo member, President of VFFCC, Nguyen Thien Nhan; Politburo member and Head of the Central Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, Vo Van Thuong; along with Party Central Committee members and representatives from ministries, agencies of the Central and Hanoi participated in the award ceremony.

Addressing the event, VFF Chairman Nguyen Thien Nhan highlighted great contributions of journalists and news agencies to consolidating the great unity of nationalities nationwide over the past years. He also hoped that the press award “For the cause of great national unity” will continue receiving much interest from media, press agencies and individuals at all levels in the coming time. He also urged the media and press agencies to use their communication strength presto contribute more to the cause of great national unity.

This press awards received 1,354 entries in different forms from 200 press agencies across the country.

At the awarding ceremony, the organizing panel granted 5 A, 20 B, 33 C and 42 consolation prizes to authors from press agencies.

The People‘s Army Newspaper won four prizes including two C prizes with Phung Kim Lan (Kim Ngoc) for his work “The value of the August Revolution is undeniable”, and group of authors Pham Van Thuy (Pham Quan) – Duc Duc for their work “Army joining  hands in building new-style rural areas in Quang Ninh province”; two consolation prizes for Truong Giang – Cong Minh’s article “The Party members of Po clan in Sin Thau commune, Muong Nha district, Dien Bien province" and press photos “The starlight in the rain” of Trinh Phu Son.
