At the meeting, Minister of Public Security General To Lam sent best wishes to President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, members of the Central Military Commission, leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the National Assembly’s Defense and Security Committee, generals, officers, and troops of the military.

The chief of the public security force confirmed that this year, realizing the resolution adopted at the 13th National Party Congress and Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s direction, the military and public security forces have closely coordinated, reaping numerous important achievements. They have also kept a close watch on situational developments, given timely suggestions to the Party and State leaders to issue strategic policies and solutions and effectively handle defense and security-related situations, contributing to firmly safeguarding independence, territorial integrity, national sea and borders, and upholding national security, social order and safety.
Attentively, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security have advised the Politburo to issue and direct the implementation of two key resolutions on people’s military and public security forces. They have actively worked together to ensure the progress of the review of 10 years of implementing the resolution of the eighth session of the 11th Party Central Committee on Fatherland protection strategy in the new situation.
In addition, they have proactively fought and prevented hostile forces’ plots and acts of sabotage, smashed transnational crime rings and cross-border crimes, and ensured absolute safety and security for key areas and during vital events.
The images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and public security troops guarding and protecting national sovereignty, security, social order and safety, peace and happiness of local people, regardless of day and night, have engraved in the heart of the people, thus strengthening people’s trust in the Party, State, and People’s Armed Forces.
Given great achievements, General To Lam expressed deep thanks to and hoped to receive more direction from the Party and State leaders, support and timely and effective coordination from leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the National Assembly’s Defense and Security Committee towards assurance of security and social order and public security building in the coming time.
In his speech, General Phan Van Giang highlighted the military and public security forces’ absolute loyalty to the Party, State, and people, and affirmed that they are key forces in defending the Fatherland, national security, social order and safety, contributing to building an environment of peace, stability for national development and peaceful life of local people.

The defense chief also spoke highly of the increase in their mutual understanding, support and relations, particularly solidarity and cooperation, thus enhancing the strengths of the People’s Army and People’s Public Security. He expressed his hope that the ties between the two forces will be further tightened and developed.

Stressing that the coordination between the two forces is valuable, the state and government leaders hoped that they would continue to promote the good traditions and actualize Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s direction of “the military and public security forces must closely and smoothly team with each other like the wings of a bird in the cause of defending the Fatherland’s independence and upholding national order and security.
