The ceremony, held at Thong Nhat Hall to mark the 40th anniversary of the traditional day of the city's volunteer youths, witnessed the participation of Secretary of the city's Party Committee Dinh La Thang, as well as former leaders and representatives from local agencies and branches.
Accordingly, the city's volunteer youth force has fulfilled various important missions since its establishment, especially in helping locals develop the economy, educating youngsters in becoming good citizens, among others. Moreover, it mobilized thousands of youths to join the Southwest border protection war and international service in Cambodia.
In addition, they were pioneers in building farms, plantations, and factories, contributing to developing the local socio-economy and improving locals' living conditions. They also planned to determinedly and effectively implement the resolution of the city's 10th Party Congress in the period of 2016-2020 with the spirit of "Leadership, Proactiveness, and Creativity."
At the event, President Sang handed over the State and Party's noble award to the city's volunteer youths while the People's Committee presented them a commendation flag.
