Five-year implementation of Directive 25 reviewed
PANO - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a conference on January 25 in Hanoi to review the five-year implementation of Directive 25-CT/TW of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on promoting and raising the multilateral diplomacy to new heights.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the directive marks a breakthrough in multilateral diplomacy since this is the first time the Party has issued a document outlining long-term guidelines, goals, and measures for the entire political system to lift the country’s multilateral diplomacy to new heights.

According to Minister Son, over the past five years, with the participation of the whole political system, the directive has contributed to remarkable achievements in all aspects, from ensuring global peace and security to fostering development and raising Vietnam's position in multilateral institutions.
At the conference, delegates reviewed the implementation of the directive over the past five year; evaluated situations; pointed out opportunities and challenges confronting multilateral diplomacy; proposed measures to create strong changes in the work as well as enhance the effectiveness of the collaboration among diplomatic pillars.
Attending the event, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang highly appreciated achievements and efforts exerted by ministries, agencies, sectors, and localities over the past time in comprehensively and synchronously carrying out the directive in all pillars.
The deputy prime minister emphasized the need for a profound shift in both mindset and action and focus on forecasting and giving timely and accurate recommendations to raise the quality of multilateral diplomacy.
