PANO – A 50-kg sea turtle was released to its natural habitat on October 8th by the Team for Aquatic Resource Protection of Nhon Chau Commune in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province.
Earlier, the turtle, 1.2m long and weighing 50kg, was captured by fisherman Nguyen Van Ai at sea off Nhon Chau Commune at the dawn of the same day and he was going to sell it.
After being convinced by members of the Team for Nhon Chau Commune Aquatic Resource Protection that the turtle is listed in the Vietnam Red Book, fisherman Ai agreed to give it to the relevant agency to be released.
