PANO - On December 30, in Sa Dec city, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province launched the first Ornamental Flowers Festival in 2023, under the theme “Love for the land - Love for flowers.”

The Ornamental Flowers Festival, an important event in Dong Thap province, is held for the first time in Sa Dec city from December 31, 2023, to January 5, 2024.

This year’s festival provides the opportunity for locals and tourists to watch approximately 2,000 flower species displaying their colors in Sa Dec flower village, which is considered the capital of ornamental flowers in the Southwestern region, covering an area of nearly 950 hectares, with over 2,000 households engaged in cultivation and 200 business households.

The People's Committee of Dong Thap province stated that the Sa Dec Ornamental Flowers Festival is a significant event featuring diverse and attractive activities. It not only honors the art of cultivating ornamental flowers, which has existed for over one hundred year, but also sets the direction for the future development of Sa Dec as a flower city. Furthermore, it aims to enhance the value chain of the ornamental flower business, coupled with tourism development, ensuring that all residents benefit from the flower village. This initiative also contributes to promoting the image of Sa Dec flower village, creating additional attractions for tourists.
