Situated 7km from the center of Pleiku city, Bien Ho is surrounded by mountains and pine forests and is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the Central Highlands region. From above, Bien Ho offers a spectacular view and has long been an inspiration for poets and musicians. This photo is part of a photo collection, themed “Landscapes, land, and people of Gia Lai,” taken by photographer Phan Nguyen.
This is an 800m tree-lined road in Nghia Hung commune of Chu Pah in the early morning. The pine trees along the road are more than 100 years old.
Buu Minh Pagoda is one of the most famous spiritual destinations in the Central Highlands and in the morning it is covered by thick fog. The road, going through the pine forest, past Bien Ho, Buu Minh Pagoda to Ngo Son field and Chua Dang Ya volcano, is the most beautiful one in Gia Lai.
Coffee flowers blossom three times a year from December to March. Each lasts from seven to ten days. Early morning is the perfect time to contemplate the beauty of the coffee flowers.
From a bird's-eye view, Hang En waterfall is like a white silk fillet. The 50m-high waterfall in Kon Chu Rang Natural Conservation Area is a favorite destination for nature explorers. At the foot of the waterfall, there are many rock blocks overlapping each other to form rocky terraces in crystal clear water.
Golden Chu Yo paddy fields in Chu Pah are peacefully nestled in the mountains.
Cassia fistula flowers in Bau Can commune are in full swing from mid-October to late November. Tourists can also contemplate this kind of flower in green tea fields, parks, at foothills, lakes, and red soil paths.
The falling of yellow rubber leaves in Ia Ring dam in Thai Ha village, Chu Pong commune of Chu Se district offers a spectacular panorama. Ia Ring dam (also known as Phu My dam) was built in 2004 and provides water for around 2,300 hectares of trees for residents in Chu Se district.
The Central Highlands province of Gia Lai is home to more than 150,000 Bana ethnic minority people, accounting for more than two thirds of the population of the Bana people in Vietnam.
The Bana people perform their traditional dance at Dak Po gong festival. During the event, participants have a chance to enjoy enchanting music of the T'rung (a traditional bamboo xylophone) and the Goong (large bossed gong).
