Mastering machines on-board Ship 20
PANO – Leaving Da Nang city on May 14, Ship 20 of Brigade 172, Naval Region 3, carrying a delegation from the Vietnam People's Navy (VPN) led by Senior Captain Nguyen Quoc Quang, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 3, first safely arrived in Langkawi, Malaysia.
They participated in the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2023 (from May 23 to 28) and then the fourth Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK-4) in the city of Makassar, South Sulawesi province, Indonesia (from June 4 to 8).
During the 5,000-nautical-mile journey, the crew-members joined a long-distance seafaring training session while officers’ commanding skills, troops’ coordination, combat readiness ability, and mastery of assigned weapons and equipment were checked.
The journey aimed to realize directives of the Central Military Commission and Defense Ministry leaders on international integration and external defense relations, contributing to enhancing and boosting the sound cooperation relationship between Vietnam’s military and navy and other militaries and navies, for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
The People’s Army Newspaper Online would like to introduce photos of how the Mechanics-Electronics Section (also called Section 5) on Ship 20 operate and master on-board machines during the journey:
