PANO - Nearly 200 Lao students studying at T78 Friendship School, Hanoi have gathered to welcome their traditional New Year festival (Bunpimay) or water-splashing festival.

Bunpimay, Laos’ biggest traditional festival, is annually observed from April 13 to 16.

On this very special occasion, the school often holds an event to welcome Bunpimay for its Lao students. This annual activity helps strengthen the bond between the local people and Lao students.

Founded on January 1, 1958, T78 Friendship School under the Ministry of Education and Training is a special institution with rich tradition and contribution to further consolidating the great friendship, close-knit ties and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. The school annually welcomes 200 to 300 international students, mostly from Laos.

The People’s Army Newspaper Online would like to introduce several photos of the close relations between teachers and students at T78 Friendship School during recent Bunpimay festival.
