PANO - Submarine HQ-184 Hai Phong, on January 31st, was safely transported to the submarine base of Cam Ranh Military Port and received by the Navy Command and Submarine Brigade 189.
In the next few days, relevant agencies will examine its technical conditions before the official hand-over ceremony. This is the third out of the six Kilo-636-class submarines built under the contract with Admiralty Shipyard of Russia. Currently, the Vietnam People's Navy has received and mastered two submarines HQ-182 Hanoi and HQ-183 Ho Chi Minh City.
The reception of Submarine HQ-184 Hai Phong is under the roadmap of building-up a “revolutionary, regular, elite and modern Vietnam People’s Navy, contributing to firmly safeguarding the maritime sovereignty of the nation,” said Rear Admiral Pham Hoai Nam, Deputy Chief of Navy.
The People’s Army Newspaper Online would like to present some images of the newly-received submarine.
