Writing contest on national sovereignty protection launched

PANO - A writing contest, themed “Overseas Vietnamese youths and students with the mission of protecting Vietnam’s national sovereignty over its seas and islands”, was launched on July 13th in Hanoi by the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Youth Union’s Central Committee.
Entries to the contest can be collections and compilations of information, documents, legal and historical evidence confirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over its two archipelagos of Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly); proposals, initiatives and solutions for firm protection of national sovereignty over its seas and islands; and scientific ideas and projects to help develop Vietnam’s marine economy, culture and environmental protection.

All Vietnamese living, studying and working overseas, aged between 16-35, are eligible to participate in this contest.
Entries should be sent before November 1st, 2016 to the Office of the Vietnam Youth Union’s Central Committee at 64 Ba Trieu Street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi, or emailed to chuquyenbiendaoquehuong@gmail.com. The theme of the contest should be written clearly on envelops and portals or on the title of emails.

The organizing panel will present one first (VND 30 million), two second (VND 10 million each), three third (VND 5 million each) and five consolation (VND 2 million each) prizes to the best writings.
Notably, all individual winners and representatives of winning groups will have an opportunity to visit Truong Sa island district.
