Hungarian parliamentarian lauds Vietnamese community’s position
The Vietnamese community in Hungary, with more than 5,000 people, has earned a high position in the country in various fields, Szatmary Kristof, member of the Hungarian National Assembly has said.
Kristof, who is also head of the group of Vietnam-friendly parliamentarians, made the remark during a luncheon with Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Hau A Lenh, on September 20.
Relations between Vietnam and Hungary have thrived and the parliamentary cooperation between the countries has been strengthened through regular exchanges of delegations between their parliamentary committees and friendship parliamentarians’ groups, Kristof noted.

Hungary highly valued the Vietnamese community’s solidarity and law obedience as well as their practical contributions to the host country, he said, pledging that Hungary will support Vietnam in all fields.
For his part, Lenh affirmed that the visit by the high-ranking delegation of the VFF Central Committee this time will further contribute to the Vietnam-Hungary relations in the time to come.
Vietnam always treasures the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with East Central Europe countries, including Hungary, he stated.
He voiced his hope that Hungary will invest more in fields of Vietnam’s demand such as health, wastewater management, information technology, medicine and food safety.
He also asked Hungary to create optimal conditions for the Vietnamese community in the country, consolidating the countries’ friendship.
Previously, the Vietnamese official paid a visit to Vietnamese traders at the Thang Long Centre in Budapest.
