Some 300 Vietnamese nationals living in Cambodia gathered at the Vietnamese Consulate General headquarters in Sihanoukville to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
Addressing the event, General Consul Do Sy Kieu updated participants on the success of the 12th National Party Congress and socio-economic developments in 2015.
He said he highly valued significant achievements in the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia in 2015. He also expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community will continue to help foster the solidarity and friendship between the two nations.

The overseas Vietnamese were treated with traditional dishes, folk games and music performances.
In Australia, more than 300 distinguished guests and authorities from the Southern Australia state together with Vietnamese students, businesspeople and expatriates working in the country joined in Tet celebrations, and celebrated 30 years of developing the Vietnamese community in the State.
Representatives of local authorities highlighted the contributions the Vietnamese community has made to the socio-economic development of the state, saying that they contributed some 5 percent of the local budget.
A Tet celebration was also held by the Vietnamese embassy in Norway, bringing together approximately 300 Vietnamese who are studying, living and working in the country.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Norway Le Thi Tuyet Mai said 2015 marked a significant milestone in Vietnam–Norway relations, with delegate exchanges and numerous fields of cooperation.
She affirmed that the Vietnamese community across the world, including those in Norway, is an inseparable part of the nation and hailed their part in fostering friendship between the two countries.
In the jubilant and warm atmosphere, attendees enjoyed traditional dishes and music performances.
