Earlier, the command received a mayday signal from fishing boat NA-95678 TS with 11 fishermen on board, captained by Ho Van Hoan, from Nghe An province. The troubled boat went adrift due to an engine failure while fishing about 19 nautical miles off Ky Anh beach in Ha Tinh province.
Receiving the mayday signal, Flotilla 2 and the Border Guard Command of Vung Ang Son Duong Port sent a rescue team with 12 soldiers and a ship to rescue the troubled boat.
At 13:30 pm on February 21, the ship approached the fishing boat and safely towed the troubled trawler ashore and provided first aid to fishermen on board.
