Naval region to send Tet gifts to troops and islanders
PANO – The Naval Region 2 Command on January 6 held a gathering for members of delegations that will present gifts to troops and islanders on the occasion of the lunar New Year of the Tiger 2022.
Addressing the event, Naval Captain Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chief of Naval Region 2, informed delegates of the region’s task performance in 2021 and several political missions in this year. He also mentioned some requirements for the delegations.
Last year, the Naval Region 2 Command successfully implemented directions and orders on combat readiness and training sessions. Reportedly, its affiliated units built 195 training facilities, tools and software, while ensuring patrols and management work to safeguard the country’s territory over the sea and sky as well as social order and security in localities where they are stationed.
They also mobilized over 1,120 working days to contribute to the new-style rural area building program, improving environmental landscapes in the localities where they are stationed, and helping local peoples develop economy; built 11 gratitude houses for needy people and soldiers; and actively sent troops to support the COVID-19 prevention and control work.
Moreover, the command’s on-duty forces rescued and treated nearly 200 fishermen in distress at sea, helped repair 21 troubled fishing boats, and provided foods and fresh water for fishermen.
The delegates at the meeting also discussed several solutions to better complete the upcoming missions to visit and present lunar New Year gifts to troops and islanders.
