At a ceremony to receive ten coaches |
* On the morning of August 17, BRG Group and Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank) handed over ten 29-seat coaches to assist Ho Chi Minh City in combating the pandemic.
Earlier, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation presented 2,000 protective clothing, 500 3M facemasks, more than 1,900 N95 facemasks and 500 faceshields to Thu Duc city-based field hospital for COVID-19 treatment.
According to the city’s committee for mobilization, reception and distribution of COVID-19 prevention and control fund, as of August 16, people, troops of the armed forces, religious organizations, social organizations, businesses and overseas Vietnamese donated more than VND 1.1 trillion and medical supplies, worth VND 1.2 trillion, to help the southern hub contain the virus. The donated medical supplies have been distributed to medical establishments and front-line forces in COVID-19 pandemic fight.
* The same day, a mission of the Military Region 7 Command, led by its Deputy Political Chief Senior Colonel Nguyen Cong Anh, visited and presented 500 gifts, worth VND 250 million in total, to needy people in Duc Hoa district, Long An province to help them overcome difficulties caused by the pandemic.

* The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council held a ceremony to receive 200,000 protective clothing and medical facemasks from Van Thinh Phat Group.
* Army Corps 4 cooperated with a local business to present gifts to troops’ and defense workers’ families facing numerous difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
* Engineering Brigade 28 under the Air Defense - Air Force Service presented 1.5 tons of rice and 400kg pumpkin to COVID-19-affected people in Bac Tu Liem district (Hanoi) through the district’s Fatherland Front Committee.
