Military Hospital 175's aid package aims to assist Saint Georg Hospital in Germany in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aid package was donated by the staff of the Vietnamese hospital in support of their German colleagues and included 10,000 medical face masks, 500 face shields and 1,000 protective suits

With the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, Military Hospital 175 launched "1 EURO for German Friends" program to raise funds for Saint Georg Hospital. All donations were used to buy medical supplies including medical masks, face shields and protective clothing which are currently scarce in Germany.

These meaningful gifts were delivered to Germany for free on April 8 on a flight by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.

Leipzig’s mayor and the German Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City have sent letters expressing gratitude to Military Hospital 175 for the meaningful gifts, and pledged that they will continue to support the two hospitals in upcoming cooperation projects.

Over the past years, Military Hospital 175 has implemented many cooperation programs with foreign partners, including those from Germany. The hospital has cooperated with nine partners such as the Institute of Orthopedic Trauma, the Cancer Institute, the Cardiology Institute, the Faculty of Medicine at Leipzig University; the Median Rehabilitation Hospital; St. Georg Hospital - Leipzig, the Cancer Institute of Rostock University, St. Sieberg - Cologne Hospital.

Ho Chi Minh City has set up twining ties with Leipzig city. The cooperation and relations between the two localities has achieved significant success, especially from the frequent visits by Leipzig city's leaders and representatives of Vietnamese agencies and units. Recently, the Vietnam-Germany Medical Center was established at Military Hospital 175.

Since 2017, Military Hospital 175 is the only hospital in Vietnam to be selected to join the Hospital Partnerships project funded by the Else Kröner-Fresenius Fund of Germany. With its partners at Saint Georg Hospital, the two sides have effectively implemented many short-term training programs (3 months), exchanged experiences and sent experts to Vietnam and Germany.
