Fifty reports presented at the seminar agreed that environment protection is a crucial responsibility of the whole mankind, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development, political stability, and wealth-being of all organizations, families and individuals. As a result, environment protection is a long-term and basic mission for the military because military activities and soldiers’ lives are closely related to the environment.

The seminar focused on evaluating both achievements and shortcomings in military environmental protection over the past 5 years (2011-2015) and defined directions and tasks of environment protection for the 2016-2020 period.

Concluding the seminar, Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong hailed environment protection achievements of units in the whole army. The general also required that units strictly follow directives and resolutions of higher-levels on environment protection and cooperate closely with localities and organizations in carrying out the missions while strengthening their observation, forecast, and analysis capabilities in the field.
