Delegates watch Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s book.

Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong’s book entitled “Resolutely, persistently fighting corruption and negative phenomena to contribute to building more transparent and stronger Party and State” was debuted on the occasion of the 93rd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and 10th founding anniversary of the Central Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Corruption and Negative Phenomena whose head is the party general secretary. The book is a confirmation of the Party chief’s due attention to the fight against corruption and negative phenomena, contributing to Party building and rectification.

The workshop aimed to introduce the book’s contents, confirm the theoretical and practical values of the book and help Party committees and cells at all levels effectively prevent and control corruption and negative phenomena, making active contributions to the current defense - military, Fatherland protection cause in the current context.

Analyses, speeches, and opinions agreed on the book’s profound value in both theory and practice for the fight against corruption and negative phenomena in Vietnam. The book asserts that the fight against corruption is "necessary, indispensable, an irreversible trend” with the determination of no forbidden zone, no free zone, no exception, no privilege, no regard of who that person is, and no pressure of any individual.

Therefore, to achieve the highest result of the fight, the Party has to self-renovate and rectify first and at the same time improve its leadership capacity and combat strength. Special attention should be paid to prevention and control of degradation in political thought, morality and lifestyle of cadres and Party members. To do that, it needs integrated strength of the whole political system and the active engagement of people.

In his concluding speech, Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet confirmed that party committees and cells in the military must pay due attention to Party building and rectification, embrace and seriously actualize the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense’s resolutions, directives, and legal documents on prevention and control of corruption and negative phenomena.

Drastic solutions and fight against negative phenomena, corruption and wastefulness need to be carried out synchronously and actively and the fight should be attached closely to the prevention of degradation in cadres and party members’ political thought, morality, style, signs of “self-evolution,” and “self-transformation.”

He urged party committees and cells to keep internal solidarity and unity in the spirit of helping comrades and building healthy lifestyle. Especially, in any circumstances, the military is always absolutely loyal to the Party, State, and people; brings into play good qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers; resolutely fights against individualism, corruption and negative phenomena; and deals with corruption and negative phenomena cases in a timely manner.
