PANO – Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Northwest Steering Board Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid a working visit to Thanh Luong Border Guard Station on December 23rd.

Leaders of the Border Guard Station briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on its missions and activities to ensure local political security and social order of border localities and to protect national sovereignty, as well as to support local governments and people in socio-economic development.

The Deputy Prime Minister applauded the achievements attained by the officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Station over the past time, especially in combating crime.

He asked the High Command of the Border Guard Force to take synchronous measures and especially boost grassroots mobilization to improve local people’s awareness of crime prevention, especially drug trafficking.

The Deputy Prime Minister also handed over a gift of VND 25 million from the Government and the National Committee for Drug Prevention to representatives of the Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard Command and Thanh Luong Border Guard Station.
