During his visits, General Luong was briefed on the units’ task implementation and preparation for the lunar New Year (Tet) 2022. He hailed their efforts in performing political tasks despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, the units also ensured the pandemic prevention and control work while actively supporting the locals in the fight against the disease.
Reportedly, the Saigon Newport Corporation has exceeded its set production and business plan targets, such as ensuring logistic and technical services for fishermen, implementing search and rescue missions as well as defense external relations, and completing economic production goals, exceeding 5-8% compared to 2020; continues to be the national leader in seaport services.
Besides, the unit has also donated VND 140 billion for the pandemic prevention and control work, among others.
Meanwhile, Coast Guard Region 3 has overcome difficulties in task performance, including patrols, fighting against crime, protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands, and implementing search and rescue missions, to name but a few.
Amid the breakouts of the pandemic, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Military and Border Guard Commands made proposals to the local party committees and authorities, and promoted their core role in the fight against the pandemic.
As the lunar New Year 2022 is just around the corner, the deputy defense minister requested these units to ensure a safe and happy Tet for troops with high combat readiness.

Besides, the units’ chains-of-command should also organize gratitude activities such as visiting policy households and national contributors, and assisting needy people in the areas where they are stationed, contributing to beautifying the images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in peacetime.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, General Luong presented Tet gifts to the units and handed over 30 tons of rice to needy soldiers and people in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
