PANO – A defence delegation, led by Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, on December 23rd paid a working visit to Coast Guard Region 4 Command.

At the meeting with the command’s representatives, General Cung praised the unit’s achievements in cooperating with other forces to follow the situation and wisely deal with emerging problems, effectively enforcing the maritime law, and carrying out search and rescue missions.

He requested Coast Guard Region 4 Command to bring into full play their results, work closely with other forces and well manage and tackle situations at sea, and effectively fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and illegal oil trading before, during, and after Tet (Lunar New Year festival), making contributions to ensuring security and protecting national sovereignty over the sea and islands.

The same day, the Deputy Defence Minister visited and presented gifts to Sub-zone 55 of the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command and Naval Region 5 Command.
