PANO - The Chemical Arm kicked off a shooting festival and a competition for ideas and initiatives on September 5. Its Commander Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung chaired the opening ceremony.

At the shooting event, marksmen from the arm's constituent units competed in two knockout events, including AK shooting (lesson 1, 4 and 5), and K54 pistol shooting (lesson 1, 4, and 5).

For the competition, contestants showcased various training models and equipment, including several ones that can be used in search and rescue missions and dealing with toxic and radioactive pollution.  These include several research projects conducted by the Institute for Military Environmental Chemistry, the Chemical Prevention Officers Training School, to name just a few.

Addressing the opening ceremony, General Tung stressed on the competition's requirement of attaching to the reality, thus all initiatives should contribute to better serving the unit's training missions and exercises, as well as other tasks.
