PANO - The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army opened a training course on military press management for more than 150 cadres responsible for press management and the chiefs of army press agencies on October 29th in Hanoi.

In his opening speech, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, emphasized that in the past, the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defence and General Department of Politics have closely directed the management and operation of military press agencies.

Through this course, the general hoped that awareness and responsibility of the governing body of the press and political organizations at all levels will be raised to help boost the quality and effectiveness of press management and publication; and promote the press’ activities to meet the missions of building and defending the fatherland in the current situation.

During the two-day course, the trainees will be provided with the basic viewpoints of Marxism- Leninism and the Communist Party of Vietnam on the press; the State’s management on the operation of the press; the work of press management in the Army; and the system of military press and related documents on the publication of newspapers and magazines.
