Saidov stated that, in the minds of President Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was an outstanding and dedicated leader of the Vietnamese nation, an preeminent politician who made significant contribution to Vietnam's socio-economic development and strengthening the country’s reputation and position in the region and on the international stage.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made important contribution to the development of the comprehensive and good cooperation between Vietnam and Uzbekistan, and he will forever remain in the hearts of the Uzbekistani people, he said.

Saidov thanked Son for the warm reception during his working visit to Hanoi last March, affirming that Vietnam is a leading important partner of Uzbekistan in Southeast Asia. He agreed to continue strengthening close cooperation between the two ministries, contributing to further promoting the Vietnam-Uzbekistan cooperative relations.

For his part, Son affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Central Asian countries in general and Uzbekistan in particular – the country with a favorable geographical location and an important role in connecting Asia and Europe.

The Vietnamese minister also expressed his pleasure in witnessing the fruitful development in the relationship between the two countries in recent times, with numerous bilateral and multilateral interactions. He said that the contents of the talks between the two ministers in March 2024 in Hanoi are being actively implemented by ministries and sectors to promote cooperation in politics-diplomacy, economy- trade, agriculture, culture, education, tourism, transport, and people-to-people exchanges.

The two ministers agreed that the two ministries will continue to play a leading role in promoting bilateral cooperation in areas where both sides have potential through enhancing the exchange of delegations at all levels, organizing the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation, and maintain the political consultation mechanism at the Deputy Foreign Minister level.
