Sharing Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements, efforts to ensure social security and improve people’s life quality, along with major development orientations for the time ahead, Man highly valued the IPU’s important role in and contribution to the implementation of its programs and strategies, the enhancement of the IPU’s cooperation with member parliaments, as well as the promotion of the role and voice of parliaments and parliamentarians.

He thanked Ackson for her good sentiments towards and substantial assistance for Vietnam and its N.A., helping advance the country’s cooperation with the IPU.

The Chairman affirmed the Vietnamese N.A.’s consistent support for the IPU’s role and multilateralism, highlighting the country’s outstanding contribution, especially the hosting of many important events.

He proposed Ackson advocate Vietnam hosting more IPU events in the future, further promote the two sides’ collaboration to actively carry out the IPU’s 2022-2026 Strategy, with a focus on innovation and digital transformation, and help the Vietnamese N.A. through providing policy advice, as well as promoting and supervising the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Ackson said that as a citizen of Tanzani, a country that enjoys good Party-to-Party and Government-to-Government relations with Vietnam, she hopes the legislative bodies of Tanzania and Vietnam will expand cooperation in the time ahead, especially increasing meetings and mutual visits between their specialized agencies and parliamentarians, and sharing law-making experiences.

Man called on Ackson, in her role as Speaker of the N.A. of Tanzania, to continue promoting cooperation between the two countries, and supporting Vietnam's participation in events and activities of the African Union.

The two sides agreed to coordinate closely to further strengthen the Vietnam – IPU cooperation in the coming time.
