With his far-reaching influence and exemplary life of faith, Pope Francis made positive contributions to promoting peace and social justice as well as protecting the poor. He also had warm sentiments towards Vietnam and contributed positively to the development of Vietnam - Holy See relations. The image of Pope Francis will forever live in the hearts of the faithful and all peace- and justice-loving people around the world, Nghia wrote.

The official expressed his hope that the Catholic Bishops’ Conference and the Catholic community in Vietnam will overcome this moment of grief soon.
