The NA Chairwoman, who is also a Politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), informed her guest that the Communist Party of Vietnam is drastically implementing the resolution of the 12th National Party Congress.

She noted Vietnam’s policy on maintaining a reasonable growth rate while transforming its growth model towards quality and sustainability, stabilizing macro-economy, curbing inflation and ensuring social security and welfare.

Concerning external relations, she said Vietnam would continue the external policy of independence, self-reliance and diversification of relations. The country will push ahead with international economic integration while boosting friendly and cooperative ties with traditional friends including India.

Highlighting the strong developments in the relationship between the two countries and the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership on September, 2016, Chairwoman Ngan affirmed Vietnam respects India’s role and position and hopes to strengthen relationship with political parties in India, including the CPI-M.

CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury hailed the development of India-Vietnam ties and affirmed the CPI-M would work to make positive contributions to promote the India-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership.

On the East Sea issue, General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said India supports negotiations and the settlement of disputes via peaceful measures based on respect for international law.

Earlier the same day, Chairwoman Ngan visited the Indian Parliament Building and attended as an observer a session of the Indian House of People and Council of States.

She also laid flowers at the Mahatma Gandhi Monument.
