At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phong, Chairman of the Vietnam-Belarus Friendship Association (VBFA), expressed his delight at the visit of Belarussian Minister of Education Andrei I. Ivanets, hoping that his visit will create a new impetus in Vietnam-Belarus cooperation in education.
The visit will help beef up bilateral ties in a more comprehensive and deeper manner, he added.
According to Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou, Vietnam is one of preferred partners of Belarus in Asia. Vietnam and Belarus share long-standing friendship, and the ties between people of the two countries have been built on trust, respect and mutual support.
Meanwhile, he spoke highly of the role of foreign students in promoting cooperation among countries, affirming that they serve as representatives of public diplomacy and the cultural bridge among nations.
Over the past time, educational cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam has seen fruitful outcomes, contributing to the development of multifaced cooperation and friendship between the two countries, the Belarusian Ambassador added.
On behalf of the alumni who have been studying in Belarus, Mr. Trinh Luong Quang, Director of the Vietnam-Russia Center, Binh Duong University, expressed deep gratitude to former Soviet government and people, as well as people and the Belarusian government at present for supporting Vietnam in the national construction and defense.
On the occasion of the Belarussian Minister of Education’s visit to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, its President Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nga presented gifts to the delegation.
