Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always values and is ready to support and facilitate the enhancement of friendly cooperation between the localities of both countries, including the bordering regions of Vietnam and Yunnan province.

Deputy Prime Minister Quang proposed that Yunnan province closely coordinate with the relevant ministries, sectors, and localities of Vietnam to concretize the shared perception of high-level leaders of both Parties and countries. He urged for the effective implementation of existing cooperation mechanisms and frameworks, with the goal of striving to increase the trade turnover between the localities of Vietnam and Yunnan province to USD 5 billion within the next few years. He emphasized the need to enhance connectivity in railway and road transportation infrastructure, promote cooperation in tourism, exchange experiences in poverty eradication, hunger reduction, and sustainable development.

Deputy Prime Minister Quang also expressed his hope that both sides would collaborate closely in border management and protection according to the three documents on land border and relevant agreements, and continue to build a peaceful and stable border to ensure the settlement and livelihoods of people of both countries.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee of China’s Yunnan province Wang Ning affirmed that Yunnan province attaches great importance to the friendly cooperative relationship with Vietnam. Yunnan province is ready to closely collaborate with the Vietnamese side in areas such as personnel training, poverty eradication, hunger reduction, environmental protection, and sustainable development. They also seek to enhance cooperation in healthcare, culture, education, and tourism, contributing to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Vietnam.
