Belarus’s Independence Day observed in Hanoi
PANO – A ceremony to mark the 75th Independence Day (June 3) of Belarus and 100 years of the foundation of the Belarusian diplomatic sector was held on June 20 in Hanoi.
Present at the ceremony were Belarusian Ambassador to Vietnam Vladimir Goshin, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), and a number of representatives of the agencies, departments, and foreign embassies in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Belarusian Ambassador to Vietnam Vladimir Goshin expressed his pleasure at the sound development of traditional relations between the two countries in recent times. He stressed that 2019 marks many important events in the bilateral relations, including the operation of the first Vietnam-Belarus joint venture MAZ Asia on manufacturing and assembling trucks, and the establishment of a joint venture on dairy production and processing in Hung Yen province.
For his part, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong affirmed that the traditional relations between Vietnam and Belarus have been expanded, especially in exchanges of delegations at all levels; economic and trade and culture cooperation. "Both sides have signed many agreements, and I believed that the Vietnam-Belarus relationship will develop more in the time to come," he said.
