PANO – South Korea’s leading investment bank Woori officially launched a wholly foreign-owned entity in Vietnam named Woori Bank Vietnam on November 7th.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of SBV; representatives of the Vietnamese Government Office; Korean Ambassador in Vietnam Lee Hyuk; CEO and President of Woori Bank Lee Kwang Goo; and other Korean companies that are promoting trade in Vietnam.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr.Lee Kwang Goo, CEO and President of Woori Bank said: “Woori Bank Vietnam will take a step forward closer to our customers so that they can trust and feel absolutely secured to use our services. Meanwhile, Woori will keep on developing with the motto of becoming the reliable bank for customers and will always accompany with the development of the local society. Furthermore, we will strongly promote social activities to support the community development in Vietnam.”

Woori Bank has been operating transaction offices in two major cities of Vietnam, namely Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. With the official establishment of the subsidiary, Woori Bank will expand its retail business with the aim of becoming the top foreign credit bank in Vietnam's market. Accordingly, the bank will expand its sales network in Vietnam by establishing transaction offices in Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, Binh Duong provinces within this year.
